Naan bread

Inspired by Herb & Garlic Homemade Vegan Naan @ Pick Up Limes (2020-06-13)

Recipe should yield this much: Using a 28 cm diameter pan – 2 naan breads.

Estimated time needed: At least 21 minutes. At most 25 minutes.

Ingredients

120 g flour
60 g milk
50 g butter
50 g sour cream
4 g liquid honey optional
2.5 g salt 2.5g salt is approximately 0.5 teaspoons.
2 g baking powder

  • 50 g butter

Melt butter:

Set aside for later

Active time 10 minutes

  • 120 g flour
  • 60 g milk
  • 50 g sour cream
  • 4 g liquid honey | optional
  • 2 g baking powder
  • 2.5 g salt | 2.5g salt is approximately 0.5 teaspoons.

Combine ingredients to make a dough

Active time 3 minutes

Knead dough until smooth:

We just do it on the kitchen bench. If things get sticky just flour your hands and the bench lightly.

Divide dough into buns and roll them out.:

The base recipe amounts should be good for 2 buns. But if you want you could make more smaller breads, or 1 gigantic bread if you make it in a pizza oven or something.

Preheat frying pan.:

Make sure the pan is pre-heated before you start frying the naans. Medium high heat should do the trick.

Active time 5 minutes

Fry the naan breads.:

Brush the side of the naan you put down in the pan with butter. Fry for about a minute, brush on some more butter, turn over, and fry for about another minute.
